Assistant Professor - Biomechanics UMass Amherst
The University of Massachusetts (UMass) Amherst is seeking applicants qualified for a tenure track faculty position in the Kinesiology Department at the level of Assistant Professor in the area of Biomechanics. The Department of Kinesiology has a long history of supporting outstanding biomechanics research and graduate training. This is one of three new faculty positions in the areas of Biomechanics and Movement Neuroscience in Kinesiology this year, demonstrating the university’s commitment to excellence in this field. Example areas of interest for scientific inquiry in biomechanics include but are not limited to: musculoskeletal modeling, musculotendon dynamics and advanced imaging of tissue mechanics. This is a full-time, tenure track, 9-month appointment with a competitive start-up package and salary range commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Director of the UMass Center in Springfield UMass Amherst
The Director of the UMass Center in Springfield is responsible for overseeing the implementation of the institution’s strategic plan for the Center. The Director will work closely with campus leadership, faculty, local government officials, civic and business leaders, and regional organizations to advance the mission of the Center. The Director will establish a nationally-known community-based center that integrates research, education and outreach aimed at solving problems in the greater Springfield area. These goals will be met by harnessing community-based research partnerships that will inform the issues important to the diverse Springfield neighborhoods and the surrounding area. The Director will develop sources of financial support for these activities where appropriate.

The Technical Assistant III configures, maintains, and supports the computer systems operated by Enterprise Desktop Support clients. Postdoctoral Research Associate- Public Health UMass Lowell
Dr. Natalia Palacios’ group at the Department of Public Health, Zuckerberg College of Health Sciences at the University Massachusetts Lowell is seeking a Post-doctoral Research Associate to work on studies of the gut microbiome, metabolomics, Parkinson’s disease and cognitive decline. Experience in the analysis and interpretation of metagenomics sequencing data in the context of epidemiolocal research is required. Experience analyzing untargeted metabolomics data is strongly preferred. The principal role of the Post Doctoral Research Associate is to work on projects alongside the Principal Investigator. A critical feature of the role of the position will also be to a) analyze metagenomics data from studies focused Parkinson’s disease and the gut microbiome and b) analyze untargeted metabolomics data in relation to various neurological outcomes (cognitive decline, depression, etc.) and c) assist in writing the related manuscripts, present results at conferences d) develop and write research proposals and form collaborations to support future research. There is opportunity for collaboration with our collaborators at University of Massachusetts and the Harvard School of Public Health.
