Job Summary

Responsible for all facets of scheduling, strategy, design, and deployment of e-mail marketing initiatives for UMass Athletics. The Coordinator will work chiefly with UMass Athletics Marketing and Ticketing to generate a comprehensive calendar for e-mail communications to various constituent groups, fans, alumni, and students on a weekly basis. Said individual will work within the Adobe Creative Cloud/FanOne for all e-mail related activity. Additionally, Coordinator will be asked to assist with other Department communications as time allows. 


Essential Functions

  • Oversee all aspects of e-mail marketing activities for UMass Athletics.
  • On a continual basis- generate, edit, and fulfill e-mail marketing calendar.
  • Utilize cutting edge visual editor and Adobe Marketing Cloud resources to conduct ROI positive digital communications as they pertain to ticketed events and fundraising opportunities.
  • Collaborate heavily with Marketing, Ticketing, and Fundraising personnel to maximize effectiveness of communications.
  • Stay apprised of industry trends, best practices, and techniques for e-mail marketing success.
  • Assist in graphic design needs for programs and department as time allows.
  • Use customer relations management software (SalesForce) to document all special requests, complaints, suggestions and general comments related to season ticket holder retention program and ticket office procedures and prepare related reports.
  • Fill ticket orders using Paciolan ticket software as time allows.
  • Import data to Paciolan and update priority points as needed for priority seating, parking, away games ticket requests, etc.
  • Assist in addressing all customer complaints and discrepancies.
  • Responsible for strict adherence to NCAA, conference, University, State and Federal rules and regulations.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensure)

  • Bachelor’s degree in sport management, marketing, or graphic design.
  • Competent in Adobe Photoshop
  • Basic knowledge of HTML
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • High level computer skills including familiarity with Microsoft software (Outlook, Excel and Word).
  • Ability to multi-task and work in fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work flexible schedule including evenings and weekends as needed


Preferred Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensure)

  • Experience working in an intercollegiate athletic department or with a professional sports team.
  • Customer service experience required
  • Knowledge of PREMIER, Lightroom, and After Effects
  • Knowledge of computerized ticketing software; Paciolan preferred.
  • Knowledge of NCAA rules & regulations.


Physical Demands/Working Conditions

  • Ability to multi-task and work in fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work flexible schedule including evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Moderate to high movement and activity required; responsibilities include extended periods of standing.


Additional Details

Appointment period is for 42 weeks only. 


Work Schedule

Generally M-F with hours varying depending on demands of the position; nights and weekends may be required.


Salary Information

$14/hr, 40 hours/week for a total of $23,520 over 42 weeks employment.
