Senior Research Administrator UMass Amherst
Under the direction of the Director of the UMass Innovation Institute (UMII), the Senior Research Administrator facilitates and supports faculty research funding and other engagement with industry partners, collaborators and sponsors. S/he reviews, negotiates, and finalizes for acceptance by the Authorized Representative, grants, contracts, and cooperative agreements for research, instruction, and other public service funding received by the University from corporate sponsors, including domestic and international for-profit entities. Provides administrative oversight of sponsored projects to minimize the University’s compliance risk related to sponsored activities, consistent with UMII mandates, Trustee policy and other applicable regulations.
Functional Analyst UMass Amherst
Under the supervision of the Assistant Registrar, the Functional Analyst will act as a member of the systems team by coordinating efforts for technological initiatives, developing systems related to student services and providing technical support of hardware and software within the office. The incumbent will work to maintain student records and collaborate with PeopleSoft developers to enhance user experience within the Student Information Systems (SIS). This position will manage the ongoing bundle testing of all the patches and fixes to the student system and use PeopleSoft query tools to write reports and extract data for analysis and distribution.
Assistant Director UMass Boston
Assistant Director of the Center for Evidence-Based Mentoring will support the Executive Director in their efforts to administer all aspects of the day-to-day administrative operations of the Center for Evidence-Based Mentoring (CEBM). The incumbent will support the executive director in the development of center products and trainings; will assist with the writing and posting of articles, as well as tagging, editing and disseminating the Center’s signature publication, the Chronicle of Evidence-Based Mentoring (Chronicle). The President of the University of Massachusetts represents the University in various ways with the Governor, Legislature, executive branch agencies, the federal government and professional organizations. The offices at One Beacon include academic affairs, management and fiscal affairs, economic development, legal, public relations and government affairs. General Statement of Duties: The University of Massachusetts President's Office, located in Boston, MA is offering a 37.5 hours a week internship for Spring 2020 at $16.00 an hour. In addition to being a paid internship, academic credit may also be available. The selected intern will intern directly with the Executive Office. The selected intern will gain valuable knowledge of the workings of the University of Massachusetts. Interns positioned in the President's Office provides general office support with a variety of clerical activities and related tasks. Interns may be called upon to cover front desk reception for greeting and assisting daily guests and visitors as they enter the President’s Office, answering incoming calls, directing calls to appropriate department staff, mail distribution, relaying of information, and flow of correspondence. This position will include research opportunities across the different departments with focus on specific topics or questions related to the president's current work or projects as well as additional duties as assigned.

Post Doctoral Research Associate (2 positions) UMass Amherst
Two postdoctoral research positions in the EXO-200/nEXO group at UMass Amherst. The EXO-200/nEXO program comprises various activities, carried out by two distinct collaborations representing different phases of a long-term program to measure neutrinoless double beta decay of xenon-136. EXO-200 is an experiment operating at the WIPP mine in New Mexico and producing physics results. The nEXO project is a scaled-up experiment that will extend the sensitivity reach of EXO-200 ~100-fold. nEXO is in an R&D phase to perfection design choices in view of a proposal to US and international funding agencies. Both use liquid xenon Time Projection Chambers (TPCs) operated with enriched xenon (>80% Xe-136). The postdoc will reside at UMass Amherst where an R&D laboratory in support of nEXO is operated. In the lab we measure the properties (e.g. light collection efficiency and electronic parameters) of Silicon Photo-Multipliers (SiPMs), the photon detector of choice for nEXO. An ancillary goal of the nEXO R&D program at UMass is to measure optical properties at the interface of solids and liquefied xenon (less-than-ambient temperature of 170 K). The postdoc will be in charge of day-to-day operations in the UMass laboratory, including hardware upgrades to the system.
