Job Description
The School of Public Health and Health Sciences at the University of Massachusetts Amherst (httr1://www.umass.edu/sphhs) is seeking applicants for a full-time, non-tenure track lecturer position (9-month appointment) in the Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences to teach in the area of Audiology. Opportunities exist for summer teaching, which would be compensated for in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement. The initial appointment period is two years with the possibility of renewal.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing in-person teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels including participation in the AuD capstone process. Providing service to the department, university, community, and profession is also expected. This includes participation on committees, projects, and other activities that support the university, college, and departmental mission.
Requirements
- Qualified candidates must hold a minimum of a graduate degree in Audiology, Hearing Sciences or a related field from an accredited university or college, with a PhD or equivalent preferred.
- Candidates must possess the ability to teach clinically relevant courses[DG1] .
- A Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A) is preferred.
- A demonstrated record of teaching at the undergraduate or graduate level is required.
Additional Information
- This position involves exercising considerable initiative, leadership, judgment, responsibility and decision-making.
- Salary commensurate with experience.
