General Summary of Position:

The Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) provides assistance to faculty and research staff in all aspects of procuring and managing external research funding. The Data Management Specialist supports the Assistant Director, Electronic Research Administration & Data Analytics with data management and analysis of proposals, awards, expenditures, and other metrics of research activity, including generating reports and maintaining awards in the grants management systems (Kuali, PeopleSoft, etc.).  This position will be fully remote (onsite as requested).

Duties include:

In addition, may assist with special projects

Minimum Qualifications (Required):

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Data Science or a related field with two to four years of experience *Will consider candidates with an Associate’s Degree and 6+ or more years of experience or High School Diploma/GED equivalent and 10 or more years of experience.

Skills:

• Demonstrated knowledge of SAS, Excel and relational databases
• Demonstrated ability to communicate complex ideas to lay audiences
• Demonstrated team performance delivering technology solutions with a service mindset approach
• Experience with Database Systems (PeopleSoft and Kuali preferred)
• Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn new technological tools as they develop
• Demonstrated record of successful collaboration with partners across the organization
• Ability to prioritize and multitask, deadline and detail-oriented
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse groups
• Strong commitment to customer service

Additional Considerations:

• Experience in a data analyst/reporting or business analyst role
• Knowledge of data management and data governance
• Experience with the business needs of research administration in a Higher Education setting a plus
• Strong interpersonal, and customer-service skills
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to work well with many different personalities and work styles
• Excellent organizational, time management and problem-solving skills

This is a benefited, full-time, SEIU 888 Professional Union position, Grade P17. Anticipated salary range: Minimum: $65,693, 25th quartile $74,725 and midpoint of $83,758.

This position will be fully remote (onsite as requested).
