Assistant Professor of Inorganic Chemistry	UMass Boston
The College of Science & Mathematics at the University of Massachusetts Boston invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Inorganic Chemistry in the Chemistry Department to begin September 1, 2025. Applicants must have a PhD in chemistry, or a related scientific field, with a track record in experimental inorganic chemistry, broadly defined. The successful candidate is expected to establish a highly productive, externally-funded, research program. Candidates whose scientific interests complement those of existing faculty within the Department and College, and who can develop cross-disciplinary collaborations, are preferred. Our department offers multiple PhD tracks in chemistry, as well as MS, ACS-accredited BS, and BA degrees in Chemistry. We also offer BS degree in biochemistry that is jointly managed with the Biology Department. The Department of Physics in the College of Science and Mathematics at the University of Massachusetts Boston invites applicants for a full-time tenure track Assistant Professor to pursue a research program focusing on experimental research in the fields of Quantum Information Science to begin September 1, 2025. We will prioritize candidates whose research complements existing strengths in theoretical Quantum Science and Technology research within the department. Candidates whose research also has potential overlap with experimental research in the department (as an example: applications of quantum sensing to biophysics) are encouraged to apply. The successful applicant is expected to establish an externally funded research program, direct the research of students at the doctoral, masters, and undergraduate levels, and interact effectively with colleagues within the Physics Department and across the College of Science and Mathematics. The successful applicant will also be expected to teach and further develop the Quantum Information Certificate program we have established at UMass Boston. Applicants must have a PhD or equivalent degree and relevant postdoctoral research experience.
