Conducting research on feasibility of 3D printing applications for highway infrastructure construction and maintenance. This will include additive manufacturing of metals, computational work on deteriorated structural members, experimental testing of repaired members, collecting data from state engineers and developing new procedures for additive manufacturing and infrastructure. This position will perform the below examples of duties.
- PhD in Civil or Mechanical Engineering with experience in manufacturing and materials science
- Demonstrated skills in writing scientific papers and project reports
- Exceptional communication skills.
- Ability to travel and participate in project research meetings, and give scientific presentations at national meetings.
- Preparation and writing of reports.
- Prepare and deliver presentations.
- Write papers for publication in peer reviewed scientific journals.
- Participation in research group meetings.
Hiring Salary: $43,128 (34.5 hours/week), 86.25% FTE
Anticipated start date: May 17, 2020
Grant funding. Initial contract for 1 year, reappointment beyond this date is contingent upon funding and mutual agreement.
