General Summary of Position:

The UMass Lowell Climate Change Intiative and Rist Institute for Sustainability and Energy are hiring a Program Associate to bring climate and energy research and communication tools and insights to students, communities, and leaders across the US to empower them to address climate change. This position is full-time for one year and may be extended. It includes a generous benefits package and would be a good fit for someone highly motivated to use their skills in communications, analysis, and project support to make a difference in the world.

The preferred candidate will have excellent written and oral communication skills, experience creating content for social media and websites, an interest in education, and be passionate about sustainability. Strong attention to detail and time management skills are important for successful, independent work in this position, as is being a collaborative team player.

Minimum Qualifications (Required):

Education: 

  • Bachelor’s degree

Experience:

  • 2-5 years of related experience

Additional Considerations:

  • Masters degree preferred
  • Strong writing skills
  • Excellent communication skills across various levels, including writing, presentation, and facilitation
  • Social media and website content generation skills
  • Detail-oriented and excellent time management skills

This is a Grants & Contracts (MTA/GRACE) bargaining unit position, Grade P15.

This position is contingent upon funding. This position is initially for one year, contingent upon funding with a possibility of being extended, contingent upon the availability of funding.
