The Assistant Director for International Admissions will be responsible for the development and/or implementation of domestic and international recruitment activities and strategies to attract new students to the university, with a focus on international students. The Assistant Director will monitor international prospects and applications and implement strategies to convert them in the admissions funnel; will utilize yield strategies to increase enrollment of international first-year and transfer students; and will review applications and render admission decisions for international and domestic applicants.
The Assistant Director will be assigned additional responsibilities such as serving as a liaison to one of the undergraduate colleges and/or managing one of the university’s international partnerships. The incumbent will also provide career and enrollment counseling; will conduct interviews and information sessions; and assist with on-campus and both domestic and international off-campus recruitment travel. Special projects to be determined based on incumbent’s professional interests and business needs. |

The Business and Operations Manager is responsible for the financial and business operations of the Press as well as for the smooth functioning of the Press’s digital systems and its physical spaces. Duties and responsibilities include: financial planning and reporting, budgeting, processing all payments and invoices, cash flow control, inventory management, the sale of permissions and subrights, troubleshooting, management and documentation of the Press’s key digital systems as well as general office duties, and serving as the liaison to human resources. The Business and Operations Manager works closely with the Press Director and all staff members of the Press, with UMass financial and administrative personnel, and with external parties (vendors, clients, authors, state and federal officials, general public) to ensure the smooth and efficient functioning of the Press. UMass Press publishes 40-50 titles per year and has a backlist of over 1100 titles. |
