Clinical Assistant Professor, Non-Tenure Track

The College of Nursing and Health Sciences, Community Nursing Department invites applications for a full-time on-ground Clinical Assistant Professor faculty position in the hybrid Accelerated Bachelor Track (ABS), non-tenure. The Community Department includes the undergraduate nursing specialty courses, and the Accelerate Bachelor (ABS) and the RN Degree Completion (RN-BS) tracks.

The ABS track includes asynchronous didactic courses and on-ground clinical experiences (including laboratory and simulation). Responsibilities include Coordination of the ABS Track and didactic and clinical teaching. Additional responsibilities include student advisement, scholarship and professional activities, university service, mentoring of part-time faculty, and collaborating with course coordinators to ensure course alignment with program outcomes. Teaching responsibilities may span adult health and nursing specialty areas based on qualifications.

Minimum Qualifications:

The applicant will have an earned clinical doctorate in Nursing (DNP) or research doctorate in Nursing (PhD) or its equivalent with clinical specialization in one of the following areas maternity and women’s health; pediatric and family health; community/population health; or adult health; 3 or more years of clinical practice experience; and 1 or more years of online teaching experience or its equivalent.

A RN license in Massachusetts or eligibility for licensure is required.

Doctoral candidates (DNP or PhD) will be considered. However, the applicant’s doctoral degree must be conferred by August 1 prior to the September start date. A letter from the applicant’s faculty advisor confirming anticipated degree conferral date must be submitted with application materials.

Preferred Qualifications:

The preferred applicant will have 3 or more years of clinical practice experience; and 3 or more years of online teaching experience or its equivalent; experience coordination academic programs or the equivalent there of; national certification as an educator – nurse educator certification or online educator certification.

SALARY: $90,000-$95,000

The College of Nursing and Health Sciences has three departments, Adult Nursing, Community Nursing, and Medical Laboratory Science. Nursing has a total of 34 full-time faculty members and offers undergraduate and graduate programs in two Departments-Adult Nursing and Community Nursing. The undergraduate degree program has approximately 550 baccalaureate students enrolled in the prelicensure traditional and accelerated, and RN to BS tracks. The College also offers graduate nursing programs at the MS, DNP, and PhD level, with approximately 110 students enrolled across the graduate programs. Nursing is committed to building scholarship in the areas of chronic illness, nursing education, and global population health. Nursing has a long-standing teaching and research collaboration with the College of Engineering. Nursing also has a growing portfolio of international collaborations and offers unique clinical experiences through these collaborations. Programs are fully accredited by CCNE.
