Upward Bound - Summer Residential Counselor

| Upward Bound summer counselors are responsible for leading all afternoon activities including study hall, athletics and cultural/creative workshops. Further counselors assist in special events and field trips. Additionally, counselors are present in the dorms and at meals. Counselors are assigned a small group of students who they meet with for activities and mentorship regularly. Counselors will perform night duty shifts on a rotating basis. Candidates must be highly motivated, patient, and energetic. This position is residential 5 nights per week for 7 weeks (one week of staff training and six weeks of youth programming). |

| Urban Scholars tutors work alongside lead teachers as teaching assistants to create a learning environment that maximizes student engagement and achievement. They support instruction by managing materials and attendance while assisting with lessons, class discussions, and group work. Beyond the classroom, tutors lead a team of approximately 20 students through competitions, workshops, college-prep seminars, field trips, and recreational activities. We seek candidates from all majors who are committed to our mission and passionate about working with youth. |
