Employer Relations Specialist UMass Lowell
The employer relations specialist markets UMass Lowell and its students to prospective employers. The employer relations specialist works closely with staff and faculty to implement strategies, policies, and procedures that ensure a high-quality recruiting program. Working as part of a career development team devoted to sharing with students the practices, experiences, and networks needed for their professional growth, the employer relations specialist cultivates partnerships that provide students with rich internship, co-op and career opportunities. The employer relations specialist responds to employer inquiries, conducts outreach to new employers, and connects them to the services, resources, and programs best suited for their needs. The university recognizes that to provide exceptional programs, like co-op and internships, employer development is a critical role. This position is a key contributor to employer engagement through recruiting and career development activities. The Career & Co-op Center provides students and alumni with comprehensive career development support to successfully transition from their academic pursuits to their career goals by promoting and facilitating career education, exploration of options and connections with employers. The Career & Co-op Center is a part of the Division of Student Affairs. This is a dynamic division involved in key university-wide strategic initiatives, such as experiential learning, corporate engagement, retention, and diversity and inclusion.
Professional Academic Advisor/Retention Support Specialist (part-time/temporary) UMass Lowell
The Centers for Learning, Advising and Student Success (CLASS) is a centrally coordinated student academic support center and provides advising, tutoring, success coaching and a wide range of academic support services to all UMass Lowell students. The Centers for Learning offers these services on both north and south campus and has professional advisors located both centrally and within the academic colleges. The Centers for Learning is actively engaged in university-wide student success initiatives and partners with academic colleges, student affairs and other units on campus to support the retention, persistence, and graduation of all our students. This professional academic advising position requires an advanced, developmental, proactive problem-solving approach to advisement to ensure students succeed academically and are fully engaged in their educational experience. The primary responsibilities include advising a caseload of first-time freshman and/or transfer students on program requirements and registration issues, degree planning, monitoring student progress, re-enrollment outreach, and supporting at-risk students. The position also involves assisting with the support of various activities and events promoting student engagement and community building. Participation in recruitment, outreach and orientation activities required.

Performs general custodial duties in connection with the cleaning and maintenance of a building or of an assigned area within a building in the Auxiliary Services Department. Works as a member of a team cleaning custodial program (CAPP Hillyard Rovic) which includes housekeeping, cleaning, moving furniture, and trash removal in assigned Auxiliary Services buildings.
