The Department of Art + Design in the College of Visual and Performing Arts at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth invites applications for a tenure track position with a starting date and appointment of September 1, 2023. We seek a colleague with significant professional experience, actively engaged in contemporary Interior Architecture and Design, with significant teaching experience.

Candidates should be prepared to teach Interior Architecture and Design at the undergraduate level, from beginning to advanced courses.

Primary responsibility will consist of leading five studio courses or 15 credits per academic year. Additional responsibilities include maintaining a rigorous scholarly agenda, advising students, and participating in departmental, college, and university service. 

Minimum Qualifications: 

MFA, MID, MArch, MS (60 cr), MA (60 cr) or appropriate Master’s Degree in Interior Architecture and Design or aligned field; professional certification such as NCIDQ, LEED, and/or WELL certification; a demonstrated, significant record of professional or scholarly achievement; current professional engagement with the field of Interior Architecture and Design; well versed in the technology currently used in professional practice; knowledge and credentials appropriate for preparing students for licensure; and at least five years of college-level teaching experience. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Ideal candidates will have evidence of innovative cross-disciplinary practices, community engagement, sustainability design, a collaborative leadership style, and the ability to effectively work across programs and disciplines.
