Community Engagement Manager

The Sustainable Solutions Lab (SSL) and the Stone Living Lab (SLL) at UMass Boston are hiring a Community Engagement Manager. The Community Engagement Manager is responsible for managing community engagement processes in specific projects and programs, as well as contribute to developing new programs for community-engaged research and action focused on just and equitable climate resilience. They will play a crucial role in fostering relationships with community partners, ensuring meaningful community participation in research and action initiatives, programs that address climate change impacts on vulnerable populations, and Nature-Based Approaches (NBA) for resilience. They will work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, including community organizations, government agencies, academic partners, and internal UMB partners to ensure that SSL and SLL’s work is grounded in community needs and priorities. |

The Director collaborates with active researchers at UMASS and in the field, as well as reviews related academic publications to help publicize the history and art historical depiction of slavery in the northern part of North America. The Director plans and organizes panel discussions, exhibitions, screenings, conferences, workshops, and other in-person and virtual events. Additionally, the director is responsible for developing historical and art historical curricula for all educational levels and for academic and lay audiences in this emerging field of study. |
