Tenure-track faculty members are expected to develop an internationally recognized scholarly presence, an externally funded research program, collaborations in interdisciplinary research teams, to effectively mentor graduate students, teach existing courses in our curriculum and to develop creative new curricula in areas of their interest or across disciplines. Candidates should envision a research and teaching program consistent with the College of Engineering’s Strategic Plan. The appointment is expected to begin September 1, 2025. The Senner Lab at UMass in the Department of Environmental Conservation is looking for a postdoctoral research associate. The position will support a collaborative NSF-funded project – along with the Velotta Lab at the University of Denver and Cheviron Lab at the University of Montana (UMT) – studying the influence of parasitic botflies on the demography, physiology, and evolutionary biology of deer mice (Peromyscus maniculatus) in the Colorado Rockies in the context of climate change. The preferred candidate will have a PhD in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, or a related field, and will have experience with demographic analyses or climate change modelling. The position will be for 12 months with a potential to renew for up to three years. The start date is negotiable between December 1, 2024–March 1, 2025. |
