Assistant Professor - Urban Planning UMass Boston
The Department of Urban Planning and Community Development (UPCD) in the School for the Environment (SFE) at the University of Massachusetts Boston (UMB) seeks candidates for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor position to begin September 1, 2026. We invite scholars who can contribute to our environmental planning concentration, specializing in the interconnectedness of environmental and public health in cities and coastal areas. Candidates with expertise in areas such as climate resilience, environmental justice, green infrastructure, disaster planning, or health equity are especially encouraged to apply. Assistant Professor - Climate Science UMass Boston
The School for the Environment (SFE) at the University of Massachusetts Boston (UMB) invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Climate Science to begin September 1, 2026. We seek an innovative scientist with a strong Earth sciences background and broad training in the mathematical, physical, or engineering sciences, whose work advances understanding of climate processes and informs strategies for adaptation. Areas of research interest include (but are not limited to): climate modeling; climate impacts on Earth/environmental system functions; extremes, feedbacks, and nonlinear processes driving climate risks; climate change impacts on ecosystems, infrastructure, or communities; and quantitative and computational approaches (e.g., data analytics, AI) applied to climate challenges. We are interested in candidates who are currently working, or seek to work, across disciplines and in partnership with communities to help address the challenges of climate change.
Postdoctoral Research Associate - Medical Device Wound Healing UMass Lowell
A postdoctoral position in medical device development is available at the University of Massachusetts Lowell in the Department of Biomedical Engineering. This position will involve the design, prototyping, and validation of novel wound healing technology. The project is sponsored by the Defense Health Agency through the US Combat Casualty Care Research Program and in collaboration with investigators at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School. The initial appointment will be for one year, with the possibility of renewal based on productivity and performance, as well as the availability of funding. Candidates with a strong background and hands-on experience in mechanical design, mechatronics, systems automation, and control are highly encouraged to apply.

Communication Dispatcher II UMass Boston
The Dispatcher II position is an entry level, uniformed non-sworn, support position for the University Police Department. Under general supervision of the Dispatch Supervisor or the shift commander, the Dispatcher II will perform a variety of specialized support duties the Police Communication Center. Support duties may include: Operating a centralized computer aided dispatch system (CAD) to dispatch non-emergency and 911 calls for service to the campus community. This includes receiving, prioritizing, and transmitting first notification of calls for service for police, fire, and medical assistance from the campus community. The Dispatcher II will operate a fixed radio system, transmitting messages to multiple and portable units under strict rules and regulations. The Dispatcher II communicates via state and national criminal databases and is responsible for effective and accurate communications between campus law enforcement, the public, and external law enforcement agencies. Extensively documents actions and outcomes from all police, fire, and medical incidents occurring on campus into the CAD system; and perform related work as required. Regular use of judgement and discretion is necessary to set priorities, assess the importance of information and react quickly and effectively.

University of Massachusetts Lowell is seeking part-time program supervisors with interest and experience teaching elementary or special education in public schools to supervise teacher candidates in their practicum. Program Supervisors observe, coach, and train undergraduate candidates seeking teacher licensure, working collaboratively with teacher preparation faculty on supervision protocols, and executing the state mandated Candidate Assessment of Performance (CAP). Supervisions typically occur 1-2 times per month on weekdays between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., in schools located within an hour radius of Lowell, MA. Supervisors observe and meet regularly with teacher candidates during their practicum.
