Job Summary

The Senior Violence Prevention Educator is a senior member of the Community Education team, responsible for developing and delivering innovative violence-prevention initiatives that meet the needs of campus & community stakeholders.

 

Essential Functions

  • Participates in program leadership including strategic planning and program evaluation to ensure compliance with goals, needs and funding.
  • Designs and disseminates responsive violence-prevention outreach campaigns, materials, and programs, using multiple media platforms.
  • Oversees compliance with grants/outside funders - including tracking grant requirements and managing reporting processes.
  • Assists with grant development.
  • Creates, manages, and maintain systems to manage administrative tasks using technology including but not limited to data collection and analysis, report writing, scheduling, recruitment, inventory, etc.
  • Responsible for recruitment, training, and supervision of a diverse group of volunteers and interns.
  • Travels within campus worksites and the greater community to provide support, administer programming and transport materials and supplies.
  • Ensures compliance with mandates and safety protocols.
  • Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with a diverse range of campus and community stakeholders to meet stated goals.
  • Provides SASA related support services.
  • Participates in organizational initiatives, programs, and services.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensure)

  • A Master's degree in a related field including but not limited to education, public health, higher education, or communications, and 1 year experience designing or delivering outreach programs to adult or college aged learners; OR a Bachelor’s and 3 years experience designing or delivering outreach programs to adult or college aged learners.
  • Valid driver's license and access to transportation.
  • Dynamic facilitator and educator across in-person and virtual platforms.
  • Proven expertise designing, implementing, and evaluating evidence- based, curriculum; Experience applying design best practices.
  • Easily and readily adopts emerging technologies with solid experience using Canva, Photoshop, or a comparable program; Microsoft Suite, including Microsoft Teams, Google Suite, or comparable software. Understands best use of social media platforms.
  • Exceptional capacity to seek, understand and incorporate feedback.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage and improve work systems using technology. Can multitask and possesses strong time management skills.
  • Contemporary knowledge of related current events, social movements, climate, and political trends. Solid understanding of relevant laws such as Campus Save, Title IX, and VAWA.
  • Works effectively in collaborative and individual environments. Exhibits positivity, flexibility, and exceptional ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituents.

 

Preferred Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensure)

  • Experience in providing content knowledge regarding topics such as: prevention of sexual assault, relationship violence, stalking prevention, healthy relationships, trauma-informed practices, violence prevention or bystander intervention.
  • Experience in supervision and training of staff including working with volunteers and understanding of community service learning.
  • Demonstrated experience engaging in client-centered design process.
  • Experience conducting focus groups.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite programs, Adobe Captivate and with web design utilizing WordPress platforms.
  • Experience with grant development and management.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish.

 

Physical Demands/Working Conditions

  • Typical office and classroom setting.
  • Stand for extended periods of time for presentations, workshops, trainings.
  • Travel to other work-related sites within campus and throughout Hampshire County
  • Lift/carry 30-40 pounds.

 

Work Schedule

  • Monday – Friday 8:30am-5:00pm; 37.5 hours per week.
  • Requires evening hours and some weekend and holiday hours.
