General Summary of Position:
The Digital Media program at UMass Lowell is seeking an adjunct faculty to instruct to teach two courses with an emphasis on advanced video production during the Spring of 2025 semester. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the entire video production process, including pre-production, production, and post-production.
Minimum Qualifications (Required):
- A candidate must have a terminal degree or professional experience equivalent to a terminal degree with a minimum of three (3) years of demonstrated experience in teaching courses related to producing for film, television, or other media.
- one-year of college-level teaching experience
- demonstrated relevant scholarship/research/publication activity
Additional Considerations:
- Demonstrated relevant professional experience in video and film production and editing plus professional, produced credits, or significant festival screenings, or other credits.
- Demonstrated proficiency in video production techniques, including but not limited to cinematography, lighting, sound design, editing, motion graphics, visual effects (VFX), and color grading.
- Fluency in industry-standard video production software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Avid Media Composer, After Effects).
- Expertise in camera operation, lighting techniques, sound design, and color grading.
- Familiarity with motion graphics and visual effects software.
- Understanding of video production workflows and post-production pipelines.
- Evidence that the candidate has already taught courses in the relevant field.
