General Summary of Position:
The UMass Lowell University Library seeks a collaborative and service-oriented part-time associate to join the Systems & Discovery team at the University Library. The Systems & Discovery Library Associate will play a key role in supporting the library’s ongoing efforts to manage and enhance its assessment and management of electronic discovery of library resources. This person in this position will work on a series of projects, focusing on tasks such as inventory and assessment of discovery and authentication for various resources, platforms, and databases. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, tech-savvy, and capable of managing projects simultaneously while collaborating with library staff and other troubleshooting stakeholders such as users and vendors.
Examples of duties include:

Data entry for electronic resource management, Database A-Z list, etc.

Coordinating and troubleshooting with vendors to confirm authentication configuration.

Evaluate current authentication and access configurations.

Promote the University’s commitment to customer service by freely sharing appropriate information and providing assistance when needed; ensuring optimal service to all internal and external partners in response to all requests for service and information; maintaining an environment that is welcoming to persons of all backgrounds, nationalities, and roles.
Minimum Qualifications (Required):

Bachelor’s degree and 1 year of experience; will consider applicants without a bachelor’s degree who have at least 3 years of experience.

Willingness and enthusiasm for learning new software and technical skills.

Demonstrated strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, such as Word, Excel, and Teams.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
-
Previous experience in a library and/or an information technology environment.

Demonstrated proficiency with library systems, discovery platforms, and database management.

Evidence of working effectively with students, faculty, staff, and the community; commitment to providing equitable service to a diverse population.

Experience with integrated library systems, electronic resource management, and electronic discovery services.

Familiarity or willingness to learn HTML, CSS, JavaScript.

Experience working with digital repositories and content.
Schedule: Schedule to be determined in consultation with the Digital Services & Technology Librarian; some remote work may be possible.
Pay: $22/hr for 18 hrs/wk
