General Summary of Position:

This position plays an important role in supporting a timely, consistent, and compliant hiring and onboarding experience, while helping departments and new hires successfully navigate the processes that begin each employee’s journey at UMass Lowell.
The position provides dedicated support for onboarding coordination, I-9 compliance, performance evaluation system administration, reporting, user support, training, and process improvement. The successful candidate will coordinate onboarding for designated employee groups, including Teaching Assistants, Research Assistants, and other hires as assigned. The role also supports the Employment Services team with onboarding benefited and non-benefited staff and faculty, helping ensure that required employment documentation, background checks, I-9 requirements, system tasks, and other onboarding steps are completed accurately and on time.
Responsibilities include supporting system workflows, user access, templates, notifications, reporting, troubleshooting, job aids, training materials, and vendor coordination. The position serves as a knowledgeable and responsive resource to new hires, hiring managers, search committees, departments, department HR liaisons, and HR staff, helping to improve processes and deliver a positive onboarding experience.
Minimum Qualifications (Required):
- Bachelor’s degree and at least 1 year of experience in human resources, onboarding, employment services, HR systems support, administrative operations, customer service, or a related area; OR a high school diploma/GED equivalent and at least 5 years of related experience. Or Associate’s degree with 3 years or related experience).
- Experience supporting onboarding, applicant tracking, HRIS, compliance tracking, administrative processes, or related employment systems/processes.
- Familiarity with I-9 requirements, employment eligibility verification, or ability to learn and apply federal employment compliance requirements.
- Strong communication, customer service, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, track detailed compliance requirements, and maintain accuracy in systems and records.
- Ability to work collaboratively with departments, new hires, HR staff, Payroll, and other campus partners.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in higher education, public sector, or unionized environment.
- Experience with NEOED/NEOGOV, PeopleSoft, PageUp, PeopleAdmin, Workday, or similar HR platforms.
- Working knowledge of student employment and/or international student employment requirements.
- Experience supporting HR, recruitment, onboarding, payroll, or employment services functions.
- Notary Public license.

- Ability to learn new systems, troubleshoot user issues, and support process consistency across departments.

This is a full-time, benefited Non-Unit, Professional position in grade P15. Anticipated salary based on qualifications and experience: Minimum: $54,217, 25th Quartile: $61,672 and Midpoint of $69,126.
