The Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth invites applicants for the position of Assistant Teaching Professor in Chemistry, for one year beginning September 1, 2024. The successful candidate will be committed to excellence in chemical education, with an emphasis on student training and preparedness in the classroom and the lab.

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Master’s Degree (MS in Chemistry or Biochemistry) at the time of appointment. Candidates with a Master’s degree will be appointed as an instructor.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Terminal degree (Ph.D. in Chemistry or Biochemistry) at the time of appointment.
  • Teaching experience in general chemistry
  • Experience mentoring students from a wide range of disciplines, cultures, and academic backgrounds

Responsibilities include four classes in the Fall and Spring semesters. This will include lecture and laboratory courses in general chemistry, as well as the possibility of upper-level courses in analytical, biological, or inorganic chemistry.

Annual Salary: Commensurate with experience.
