Economics - Lecturer 100% UMass Amherst
The Department of Economics invites applications for a full-time Lecturer. Teaching responsibilities will include three (3) undergraduate classes per semester. The Department seeks applicants capable of teaching a broad and flexible course list and, in particular, Behavioral Economics and Money and Banking. This position will start on September 1, 2024, and the initial appointment will be for one year. The potential for reappointment is contingent upon funding availability and satisfactory performance. Annual salary range is commensurate with experience.
Director Research & Engagement UMass Amherst
The Director of Research and Engagement (Art History - Slavery North) is responsible for managing all aspects of Slavery North’s fellowship program and developing strategies to increase national and international awareness of the program and the work of its fellows and researchers throughout the realms of the arts, fines arts, and academia. The Director develops and implements strategies to reach these goals through a variety of outcomes including podcasts, curation of art exhibitions, colloquiums, and media work focused on the mandate areas of Slavery North, as well as the supervision of research conducted by Slavery North’s cohorts with emphasis on art historical disciplinary perspectives.
Sr Data Specialist (Institutional Research) UMass Boston
The Senior Data Specialist works in a team environment with one or more data specialists reporting to the Director of Institutional Research. The incumbent will contribute to campus-wide data-informed decision-making, in support of the implementation of the 10-year strategic plan, For The Times. The Senior Data Specialist is responsible for creating and managing large datasets, extracting information from them, and reporting data to a variety of internal and external audiences. The incumbent will be working in a SQL environment and will use Tableau to create data presentations. The incumbent will be responsible for reporting to the federal Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS), the State of Massachusetts, the University of Massachusetts Board of Trustees and President, and to guidebooks like the US News. The position requires interaction with many academic and administrative areas of the campus, and colleagues at other campuses, in the University of Massachusetts President’s Office and the Massachusetts Department of Higher Education.

Program Coordinator - Undergraduate Programs UMass Lowell
The Program Coordinator, Undergraduate Programs is responsible for providing academic guidance and support to undergraduate students in the Manning School of Business. The Program Coordinator will ensure Manning undergraduates receive prompt and quality support in addressing requests related to various academic processes and questions (e.g., program change, petitions, DIG forms, academic standing appeals, career-connected experiences, etc.), coordinating the efforts of professional advisors and respective department Directors of Student Success. The Program Coordinator will work closely with the Associate Dean and Dean in supporting the success of current undergraduate students and in the recruitment of new students. The Program Coordinator will also serve as a point person to support the success of undergraduate transfer students and first-generation students in the college. The Program Coordinator will assist the Associate Dean in managing student organization activities as well as student success initiatives and events in the college.

The Byrnes lab at UMass Boston (http://byrneslab.net) is seeking a postdoc to aid in completion of a NASA Funded project, “Using Hyperspectral Imagery to Assess the Effects of Warming on New England Kelp Forests”. The postdoc would begin at their earliest convenience as part of the team (Crystal Schaaf, Nima Pahlevan, Rodrigo Garcia, Marc Borrelli, Tom Bell, Bob Chen, Arthur Elmes). The postdoc will be to work with the project team to complete analysis and write up of data collected over two years of field campaigns consisting of data from Hyperspectral Drones, PRISMA and EnMap satellites, in situ drop camera data, in situ spectral data, side scan sonar, and diver collected data. The postdoc will also have opportunities to teach workshops, if they desire, and to collaborate with a deep learning team at the University of Zargoza. The position presents the opportunity for multiple novel and potentially high impact publications. The position is for one year with the team supportive of applying for future funding.
