Assistant Teaching Professor Track

The Department of Community Nursing in the College of Nursing and Health Sciences at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth invites applicants for a full-time renewable, Assistant Teaching Professor starting September 1, 2025. We seek a colleague who is an experienced Family Health (maternal-child or pediatric health) educator with a strong commitment to teaching and mentoring emerging professionals. However, expertise other clinical specialty areas will be considered. Prospective faculty must be committed to rapid pedagogical, academic, and employment changes as driven by environmental conditions. This is an on-site, non-tenure position.

Primary responsibilities include teaching didactic (may include on-ground and online teaching) and clinical courses in the area of maternal-child or pediatric health in our undergraduate baccalaureate programs - traditional 4-year and accelerated second degree hybrid tracks. May also include other baccalaureate level nursing courses. Additional responsibilities include undergraduate academic advising, departmental, college and university service, and continuing education needed to maintain professional licensure, certification, and pedological innovation.

Required qualifications: A master’s degree in nursing from a nationally accredited program, Massachusetts RN licensure or eligibility for MA RN licensure, and two or more years of full-time or full-time equivalent didactic and clinical teaching.

Preferred qualifications: The required qualifications plus three or more years of full-time or full-time equivalent didactic and clinical teaching, nursing specialty certification, and Certified Nurse Educator (CNE) credential.
