Job Summary 

The Salesforce Administrator II will work on full life-cycle salesforce development projects including requirement gathering, development, acceptance testing, roll-out, user training, support, and maintenance. They will use Salesforce tools to set up and configure applications, manage data, build customized dashboards and actionable reports, set up workflows, alerts, and access controls, and address and resolve user issues. 

 

Essential Functions 

  • Configures and administers the Salesforce platform to support projects; stays up to date on new features and releases.   
  • Applies technical knowledge and Salesforce administration experience to help design creative and feasible solutions. 
  • Uses declarative functionality (click, not code) to build solutions using the Salesforce platform, and set up workflows and alerts. 
  • Tests custom Salesforce solutions. 
  • Performs database management such as running diagnosis tests, data validation, and eliminating duplicated data. 
  • Builds customized dashboards and actionable reporting to support business requirements. 
  • Configures and manages permissions and modifies security settings and user access to ensure compliance and user data protection. 
  • Provides end-user support for Salesforce applications. Communicates with end users on system changes and assists with problem resolution to ensure prompt and efficient customer service and client satisfaction. 
  • Performs analytical troubleshooting including in-depth investigation of bug reports and data anomalies.

Minimum Qualifications  (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensure)

  • Bachelor’s degree and two (2) years of Salesforce administrator experience -OR- An associate's degree with four (4) years of experience -OR- relevant experience may substitute for degree requirement, for a total of six (6) years of experience. 
  • Strong business analysis skills. 
  • Strong organizational skills. Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize simultaneous requests. 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and proven ability to collaborate well with others. 
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present ideas and suggestions clearly and concisely. 

 

Preferred Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensure)

  • Experience with reporting and data analytics. 
  • Experience with integrated products (such as Form Assembly or Dell Boomi).
  • Experience providing end user support and training. 
  • Salesforce (or similar) certifications. 
  • Experience working in higher education or public sectors. 
  • Experience in SOQL or SQL. 

 

Physical Demands/Working Conditions 

Typical office environment. 

 

Work Schedule 

  • M-F, 37.5 hours a week. 
  • Some nights and weekend hours required. 
  • This position has the opportunity for a hybrid work schedule, which is defined by the University as an arrangement where an employee’s work is regularly performed at a location other than the campus workspace for a portion of the week. As this position falls within the Professional Staff Union, it is subject to the terms and conditions of the Professional Staff Union collective bargaining agreement.
  • This position has the opportunity for a remote work schedule, which is defined by the University as an arrangement where the employee’s work location is to work from a site other than the UMass Amherst campus. As this position falls within the Professional Staff Union, it is subject to the terms and conditions of the Professional Staff Union collective bargaining agreement.
