General Summary of Position:

The Graduate, Online & Professional Studies office is seeking a part-time support specialist. This role is vital to supporting the needs of the admissions, recruitment, and advising teams through various administrative tasks, customer service and student support. A strong desire to provide top-tier customer service is a must.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to; answering phones, processing paperwork related to student application, processing course registrations for non-matriculated students, entering transfer credit information, answering emails, updating and maintaining student records. The Support Specialist will also assist with recruitment initiatives, including calling campaigns to prospective students, applicants, and matriculated students.

Minimum Qualifications (Required):

HS diploma or GED/equivalent required, background in customer support. Preference to those with previous higher education employment experience. Must be proficient in MS office. 

Additional Considerations: (If applicable)

New employees will be trained to gain working knowledge of our Student Information System (SiS) and our available student services.  They will also work with UMASS Lowell faculty, students and staff and will handle confidential information.

Seeking a candidate that has outstanding phone and email etiquette and the ability to answer questions in a professional and timely manner.

This is a part-time, temporary, non-unit, non-benefited position.  – 18 hours per week. The GPS office is open from 8:30am-5pm M-F.  The ideal candidate will be available to work at least one shift each week until 5pm and have Friday availability.
