Job Summary

Under the general direction from the Associate Director of Clinical Services, is responsible for evaluation and treatment of a wide range of patients presented to the clinic; participates in preventative mental health programs as consultant and leader of workshops; provides specialized services in at least one major program; crisis/liaison services, including regular intervention with emergency situations and highly acute patient situations.

This is a one-year term limited appointment with potential for an additional one-year term limited appointment.

 

Essential Functions

  • Performs a range of clinical responsibilities:
    • Evaluation, crisis interventions, brief psychotherapies of wide variety of clients (individuals, couples, families, groups) presenting to clinic.
    • On-call responsibilities in regular rotation for a variety of urgent and emergency situations in 24–48-hour stints including nights, weekends, and holidays.
    • Specialized tasks as defined with Director.
  • May functionally supervise trainees and teach within training programs.
  • Provides community consultations and workshops.
  • Prepares timely written documentation of above activities as required.
  • Understands and contributes to implementation of departmental and institutional goals for achieving non-discrimination and creating multicultural environment.
  • Understands responsibilities related to HIPPA, EMR system compliance, FERPA, state laws, and professional ethical guidelines.

  • Performs related duties as assigned or required. Understands responsibilities with respect to Title IX, Clery and other compliance requirements.  
  • Demonstrates capacity, skill, and willingness to engage students and contribute to student success.  
  • Understands responsibilities with respect to conflicts of interest and behaves in ways consistent both with law and with university policy.  
  • Contributes toward creating a positive and respectful workplace. Uses access to sensitive and/or not yet public university related information only in the performance of the responsibilities of position and exercises care to prevent unnecessary disclosure to others.  

 

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensure)

  • Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW), Master degree in Mental Health Counseling or related field (LMHC track), or doctorate degree in Clinical or Counseling Psychology (PhD, PsyD, EdD, etc.).
  • One year of experience in delivering psychotherapy services.

 

Physical Demands/Working Conditions

Typical Office Environment.

 

Work Schedule

  • Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm.  On-call responsibility requires after hours’ time.
  • One-year term limited appointment with potential for an additional one-year term limited appointment.
