General Summary of Position:

As a vital member of the Financial Aid team, the Assistant Director of Financial Aid - GPS position plays an essential role in the administration of financial aid programs and in upholding compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations to ensure timely delivery of financial aid. This is a hybrid position.

The Assistant Director is responsible for supporting Graduate and Professional Studies (GPS) students and staff and well as assisting with day school student inquiries.  The position assists students in navigating financial aid eligibility, assists with special circumstance appeals, explain financial planning strategies, verify student C-Flag eligibility and manage financial aid awards due to changes in enrollment, SAI, housing, outside resources, summer enrollment, etc.  The Assistant Director also oversees a set of projects directly related to the management of GPS financial aid programs in collaboration with the GPS staff and other offices on campus.

Minimum Qualifications (Required):

  • Bachelor’s Degree plus 4 years of financial aid related experience
  • Thorough knowledge of federal financial aid regulations
  • Demonstrated experience with regulatory compliance
  • Strong organizational skills and flexibility to adjust to changing priorities
  • Functional experience with an integrated Student Information Systems required; expertise with PeopleSoft Student Administration System preferred
