General Summary of Position:
Reporting to the Associate Director of Planning and FIS or designee, the Campus Planner is responsible for supporting the full range of campus planning functions for one the nation’s fastest growing universities, with an emphasis on planning analysis and space planning; capital projects, including feasibility assessment, programming and preliminary design; and planning that supports a more sustainable campus environment. The Campus Planner position is an opportunity to join a dynamic Facilities Planning team with potential for advancement and growth.
Minimum Qualifications (Required):
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Planning, or directly related discipline
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in planning, feasibility assessment, programming and design, or related area or Master’s degree plus 1 year of experience
- Knowledge of academic or institutional planning, programming, and facility design principles and best practices
- Experience with relevant software including Autocad, Microsoft Excel & Project, Adobe Creative Suite, and/or equivalent
- Experience working as a client to architects, planning, and study consultants
- Skill in developing and evaluating complex planning, transportation and design guidelines and formulating recommendations
- Ability to establish effective working relationships and use good judgment, initiative and resourcefulness when dealing with the university community, the public, other employees, and governmental units
- Ability to critically assess situations, solve problems, work effectively under stress, within deadlines, and in public situations
- Skill in oral and written presentation
- Hands-on self-starter with high sense of urgency who functions well in a self-created, fast paced environment, with attention to meeting tight schedules
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in urban design, architecture and/or related disciplines
- Experience with programming, capital projects, and space planning in a university or large institutional setting
- Working knowledge and experience with REVIT software and/or GIS
- Experience working within the Commonwealth of Massachusetts regulatory framework for public facility planning, design, and construction

This is a SEIU 888 Professional Union position, Grade P18. Anticipated salary based on range: minimum: $72,170 25th quartile: $82,093 and midpoint: $92,017
