Upward Bound Summer Residential Tutor UMass Boston
Upward Bound summer tutors are responsible for assisting in classes, leading daily study sessions and co-facilitating a creative workshop. Tutors may at times be asked to assist in aspects of dorm life. Further tutors assist in special events and field trips. Tutors are responsible for being knowledgeable about content area and working with the teachers to stay current with what is going on in the courses. Additionally, tutors are present in the dorms and at meals. Tutors are assigned a small group of students who they share a suite with and meet with for activities and mentorship regularly. Candidates must be highly motivated, patient, and energetic. This position is residential 5 nights per week for 7 weeks (one week of staff training followed by six weeks of youth programming).

Academic Success Coordinator UMass Boston
The Academic Success Coordinator works with Early College students, potential and enrolled, using asset-based educational, cultural, and linguistic frameworks, to provide support to students from their initial transition to the program, through graduation. The Academic Success Coordinator will also provide support to Early College graduates who transition and enroll at UMass Boston, and will ensure high-quality, comprehensive advising sessions through educational approaches that promote equity, transformational practice, and academic literacies to guarantee the successful retention of the students served. The Marketing and Communications Multimedia Specialist is responsible for supporting communications and storytelling efforts primarily across digital and social media platforms, using animation, graphic design, photography, video and audio. Produced content should strengthen and advance UML’s brand messaging and reputation in addition to supporting recruitment and enrollment of students at all levels (undergraduate, adult degree completers and graduate students). Reporting to the Creative Director and in concert with the department’s Editorial Director, graphic designers, social media team and staff writers, the Multimedia Specialist will conceptualize, pitch and generate content on a near-daily basis related to activities involving the Chancellor, Admissions and Advancement, as well as events or noteworthy initiatives at the university’s colleges. This position requires a highly creative, deadline-oriented individual with proven experience producing successful rich content while working collaboratively with a cross-functional team (Editorial, Design & Production, Web and Enrollment Marketing). It requires someone who can both pitch their own ideas and take assignments and run with them. As a member of the Marketing and Communications team, the Multimedia Specialist will partner with other department colleagues to support programs and initiatives related to student recruitment, the student experience and campus life, donor and alumni relations, community relations and research and career-related endeavors of students and faculty.
