General Summary: 

Under the direction of the Vice Chancellor of Human Resources, designs, develops and delivers strategic employee learning and development programs including, but not limited to, management and leadership development, onboarding, and career development through various modalities including presentations to large or small groups, e-learning and interactive sessions, etc. In addition, this position will dedicate significant effort conducting anti-harassment and discrimination training working with the office of Civil Rights and Title IX (CRTIX Training). 
 
CRTIX training is at the core of the University’s efforts to provide anti-harassment and discrimination training to students, faculty, and staff. Moving beyond simple compliance, the CRTIX Trainer will be an integral part of a team creating a world-class progressive training program that will allow students, faculty, and staff to recognize and thrive in an inclusive environment with zero tolerance for discrimination, harassment, or sexual violence

Examples of Duties: 

Employee Training and Development
 
• Recommends, designs, develops and implements innovative learning and development programs that support the full employment lifecycle, including onboarding, career development, wellness, succession planning, conflict resolution, and management and leadership development. Program development and delivery facilitated both on-line and in person.
• Assesses needs, analyzes gaps, researches best practices, and partners with Human Resources senior leadership team to identify, develop and implement successful and innovative training and development programs for all employees
• Develops and implements program processes and procedures, maintains records and tracks outcomes.
• Utilizes adult learning theory to provide customized learning opportunities.
• Utilizes current and upcoming technology to develop and deliver trainings. 
• Continually monitors and evaluates effectiveness of programs and makes needed adjustments.
• Coordinates training and development program activities including forming committees, scheduling, event logistics and vendor relations.
• Ensures programs are accessible and coordinates with ADA Coordinator as needed.
• Performs other related duties as assigned to support overall organization and employee development initiatives.

 
CRTIX Training Specific
 
Student Training: 
• Working with the Student Investigator for Civil Rights and Title IX, create progressive yearly in-person compliance training for UMass Boston’s 16,000 students. 
• Work with University Stakeholders and Partners to create and attend timely workshops on consent, sexual education and wellness and related matters.
• Along with University Stakeholders administer the MA-state required sexual assault climate survey.
• Attend community and public-facing trainings to bring best practices back to UMB and build relationships with the greater Boston community.
 
Employee Training: 
• Coordinate all efforts surrounding identifying responsible employees and administering in person training to them. 
• Working with CRTIX team-members to write policies around responsible employee training and keep them up to date with federal regulations. 
• Provide Unconscious Bias and Microaggression Training to Staff Members 
• Work with CRTIX to Staff to create progressive anti-harassment and anti-discrimination training for all staff.
 
On-Demand Training:
• Provide on-demand training for campus stakeholders dealing with climate issues related to discrimination or harassment. 
• Serve as a campus resource for Stakeholders seeking advice on how to work with their employees on issues of discrimination and harassment.

 

Qualifications: 

Required: 
• A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university. 
• A minimum of 3 years of experience providing compliance or related training, with a demonstrated track record of success in the role.
• A demonstrated expertise in Civil Rights and Title IX Laws 
• A demonstrated commitment to and understanding of diversity, equity and inclusion.  
• Professional demeanor and strong presentation skills, and ability to organize and communicate information to groups of varying size and hierarchical levels in the organization.
 
Preferred:
• Master’s degree in a related field from an accredited school preferred.
• Experience in Higher Education preferred.
• Experience independently creating programming/training strongly preferred.

Salary Range: Commensurate with experience
