General Summary of Position:

UMass Lowell's Campus Recreation Department is seeking a part-time boat mechanic to oversee our motorboat fleet for general maintenance. Boats have Tohatsu (3) and Yamaha (1) engines. This is a part-time, temporary, non-unit, non-benefited position, and is year-round with the exception of January & July. Boats are used heavily during spring (March-May) and fall (September-November). Work is regularly needed for pre- and post-season boat maintenance (February, June, August, and December) and otherwise requested as needed during both seasons, typically a few hours weekly. Because of this, hours vary between 0 and 15 hours per week. Work includes all boat-related duties, including winterizing boats and moving boats in and out of the water using our dock/ramp, as well as issues as the boats are used. We are seeking an independent and competent part-time staff to come on-site according to your own schedule. Ability to do fiberglass repair is a bonus. 

Minimum Qualifications (Required):

  • HS Diploma or GED/equivalent
  • 2-5 years experience as a boat mechanic
