General Summary of Position:
The Department of Physics and applied Physics at the University of Massachusetts Lowell seeks a physics laboratory technician. This position will involve the day-to-day operation of the introduction laboratory program, in which more than 1000 students participate each semester. Duties include coordination the program throughout the entire year, training and supervising laboratory teaching assistants, maintaining inventory, and providing other departmental support as needed.
The position is full-time 12-month regular academic professional position with applicable university benefits. Salary will be commensurate with the candidate's qualifications and experience.
Minimum Qualifications (Required):
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in science, engineering or a related field.
Experience:
- Three years in a laboratory setting.
**Will consider candidates with a H.S. diploma/G.E.D. and seven years directly related experience
Additional Considerations:
- Outstanding interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
